Description

The M7 Speed designed and manufactured skid plate for the 2017-present Generation 3 F60 Countryman & F54 Clubman is a functional work of art. It is CAD designed and CNC computer laser cut in the USA from 1/8" (3.0 mm) thick military grade aluminum plate.

MINI Cooper engine & transmission oil pans are made of very thin sheet metal and plastic that is easily cracked or punctured by most any object they come in contact with. Things such as on-highway road debris, manhole covers and speed bumps or off-highway stones, rocks & tree stumps. While your MINI may be at stock height, lifted or lowered there is only small amount of clearance between the ground and your oil pans.

 FEATURES:

  • Made in one piece from 5052 military grade aluminum, 0.13 inch thick (3mm)
  • Computer designed & CNC manufactured in the USA for a perfect fit.
  • Direct bolt-on installation – mounts to existing holes in your sub-frame and undercarriage.
  • Smooth, raw aluminum finish.
  • Easy oil drain plug and oil filter access. Skid plate removal not required for oil change service.
  • Less than 60 minutes to install using simple hand tools.
  • Includes all installation hardware and necessary mounts.

BENIFITS:

  • Protects your MINI’s oil pan, a/c pump, radiator, transmission, suspension and sub-frame from expensive damage.
  • Installation requires no drilling or  welding or other modifications required to your car.
  • Will never rust.
  • Provides the maximum amount of ground clearance while still protecting critical undercarriage components.
  • Increases front downforce for improved moderate to high speed handling on lowered cars running close to the ground.

Includes 1 cut, formed and TIG welded skid plate, hardware kit and necessary mounts.

Made in the USA

Received quickly. Looks good ... read the instructions, then again. removed the "felt" covering, that was easy. That cover keeps out dust, its of no value for protection... mostly show/no go. Finding the location of where the included crossmember goes took me a while, then a light goes on and you see the small rectangle on each side of the radiator bar and it's easy. Mounted the plate easily actually. Put in the two LARGE bolts at the front, hand tighten, then lifted the rear. Held it loosely in place with a single zip tie to free up my hands to mount the bolt/spacer/nut to one side then the other side. Cut the zip tie and started tightening everything. The 3 small screws up front did not line up with the original vehicle mounting point. They're not very important to the function of the plate... so I drilled the plate to allow the mounting of the those three to the cars flimsy plastic and the aluminum plate... looks good, and provides the minor support intended by the plate/cars plastic. no big deal. Torqued 4 primary support bolts, done.
The protection provided by the plate is 100% more than original "protection." Happy camper. Follow the directions, they work ... I just had to read them 15 times or more to "get" what they said. smile
