Introducing a design and styling change to our very popular Swing-Away Spare Tire Carrier.  The tire mounting has been lowered 3" from the original design for almost obstruction free location.

Please Note: This item only fits 2011-2016 MINI Countryman(R60) and MINI Paceman (R61)

The M7 Swing-Away Spare Tire Carrier provides the MINI Cooper Countryman-Paceman owner with a sense of freedom and peace-of-mind no matter where Adventure Motoring travels take you. Weather traveling around town or on long road trips, knowing that you have a full size spare tire with you makes the chance of being stranded and the stress that goes with it disappear. Engineered in-house and long duration tested the M7 Swing-Away Tire Carrier is convenient, effortless to open and close gives you use of 100% of the precious cargo space in your MINI. The beautiful form over function design blends with the curves of the MINI making your car more unique and attention grabbing while adding a large amount of functionality to your SAV. (Sport Adventure Vehicle)

The Swing-Away Tire Carrier easily bolts to the two factory tow hook locations on the rear bumper of your 2011-2016 Countryman or Paceman with the supplied installation kit. The adjustable wheel bracket allows for mounting of any diameter wheel and tire combination up to 30” in diameter with a 150 pound (70 kg) maximum weight.

Manufactured from 100% USA materials, computer laser cut parts and fixture welded by US craftsmen. The carrier features a double tapered roller bearing hinge system, a self-aligning, dual stage rotary latch that meets FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) and an adjustable wheel mounting bracket. These features make the M7 Swing-Away Tire carrier a great value and an awesome accessory for your MINI. The entire part is three step powder coated in a beautiful matte black finish and all hardware is zinc coated to provide corrosion resistance even in harsh northern climates.

The kit comes with all the necessary hardware needed for installation.  Some minor final assembly and minor adjustments may be required.

NOTE: THE SPARE TIRE MAY INTERFERE WITH BACK-UP SENSORS. TO CLEAR THE SENSORS THE TIRE MAY NEED TO BE RAISED. THIS IS EASY TO DO WITH THE ADJUSTABLE MOUNTING BRACKET INCLUDED WITH THIS KIT.

I bought my 2016 Countryman used, not realizing at the time there was no spare. I discovered this (fortunately not in a time of need) shortly after putting on four new Michelin CrossClimate-2, so I was certainly not going to switch to run-flats. And like you, I want a spare. Always. The only reasonable solution I could find was a tire/tyre carrier as shown in the picture. It's made and sold by M7Speed (M7Speed.com) and cost me about $1,000. Not cheap and even less the case if shipped to a place where you use petrol. On the positive side, it installs easily in the threaded rear tow hook receivers and it swings nicely out of the way for lifting the hatch. No holes to drill and no mods to the car. Does not block either the plate or the rear window to any extent that matters. Money well spent for someone who loves the car but must have a spare.

  • Solid build with an obvious lack of testing...

As a tire carrier, this thing is 100% solid. The problem with this is that they clearly never thought to test this rig on a model with reverse sensors. The rig completely blocks the middle two reverse sensors, rendering them useless. Whenever you go in reverse, the car will scream at you because it thinks you're about to hit something. The solution I was given by M7 was to either live with it, disconnect my sensors, or return it... How do you miss something this big?
