Mini Cooper S R56 Performance Intercooler Kit from Wagner Tuning for Facelift LCI models 2011-2015
This Wagner Tuning intercooler is ideal for modified MINI owners who wants to get the most street, autocross and track day performance. It features ~220% larger frontal area and ~110% greater volume than the factory OEM charge air intercooler.
Intercoolers are used to reduce the heat from the compressed air as it transfers from the turbocharger into the engine's induction system. By passing the compressed and heated induction charge through an air-to-air heat exchanger (intercooler) reduces the charge temperature. Lower temperatures creates a higher density of air/fuel molecules, which allows more air/fuel mixture into the same amount of space. More air and more fuel means one thing....MORE HORSEPOWER and torque.
The Wagner-Tuning intercooler is highly regarded in the German performance car aftermarket for brands like Audi, BMW, Porsche and VW. It features full German CAD based design, cast aluminum end tanks (not welded sheet metal) which gives the highest flow with the lowest pressure drop, furnace brazed bar and plate core design all skillfully welded together to create a fantastic product. This intercooler is a direct bolt-in for ALL 2011 through 2015 "R" Series Turbocharged MINIs.
Because of the large size of this performance intercooler trimming & modifications behind the bumper cover may be required.
JCW valence bars require trimming/modification for intercooler to fit.
