Here is the solution. Throw away the bolts and install a wheel stud conversion kit.
Make changing out your wheels faster and easier with a stud conversion. This kit is for a Gen 1 MINI with 4 studs per wheel.
Kit includes:
- 16 Lug nuts with 60 degree Conical Seat and 17mm hex. Black Zinc Coated
- 16 high quality M12-1.50 thread wheel studs (75, 82 or 90mm length)
Why use wheel studs instead of wheel bolts?
- Many racing entities require wheel studs for more consistent clamp force when the wheels are installed and torqued properly.
- Wheel spacers require custom lengths wheel bolts of different length and can be difficult to source. Wheel studs are designed to accommodate various spacer widths all in one application.
- Changing/removing wheels/tires becomes incredibly quick and easy.
- Freedom to customize your car with "TUNER STYLE" lugnuts available in virtually unlimited styles and colors.
- The wheel studs will act as a wheel hanger, while the nuts secure the wheel in place.
- Wheel studs stay in the hub, which means you are no longer constantly removing and installing your wheel bolts. The benefit is less chance of cross threading and less wear on your wheel hubs.

For stock and aftermarket wheels with spacers up to 12.5mm order 82 mm kit.
For stock and aftermarket wheels with 15-20mm spacers 90mm kit.
INSTALLATION NOTE: Use thread-locking compound (RED or BLUE) is recommended at installation. Torque studs to 15Nm.
